Shadow Social Services Minister Michael Sukkar said the opposition had no plans to change JobSeeker, arguing that employment was the best way to improve living standards. How are you going to encourage employment when you continue to substantially increase the payment for not working? Seems to...

Gone by year’s end? Coles shopper shares self-service checkout warning, retail giant responds

I got a shock last year when I found KFC at Morisset NSW to be card only with a tiny little sign at the counter, then found out it has been for quite a while.

Do you know about the 'shady' fee for using cash at Australia Post?

I noticed this in the late 1980's! The extra charge would be on your next bill if you paid at the post office and at that time it was nearly every service supplier that offered a payment option at AP.

yes they do, they also have rental income and are not spendthrifts so will have paid things off in relatively quick time. They bought before the huge price rises also as I did with my current house.

Coles insiders leak checkout secret after shopper’s ‘awkward and weird’ experience

Didn't know self serve checkouts came with conveyor belts, never seen one. At least they have staff overseeing if you have issues. My local Aldi put in more self serve checkouts and if a customer has an issue then the checkout person serving you stops scanning your stuff to go and help them!!

This photo reveals the dark side of Australia's 'cashless future'

What I've found lately is businesses that do pass on a charge don't even tell you, I thought they should have to tell you that before you paid? One of the shops near me was a men's hairdresser and a pizza shop, no mention of the extra card charge at all to their customers.

This photo reveals the dark side of Australia's 'cashless future'

Businesses use their main bank for eftpos facilities instead of an independant eftpos service provider. There are plenty around and the business would benefit with much lower charges along with their customers. I had mobile eftpos when I was a tradie and debit cards did not incur a fee, that is...

It's the younger generation paying huge prices for housing not the aged, they're downsizing or not moving. Anything is only worth what someone will pay for it, as they say the market decides. Massive Medicare overhaul proposal could drain taxpayers $12 billion—is it worth it?

Would be good if it ever happens as it's only a proposal at the moment. With the introduction of MyMedicare we were to see the possibilty of more GP's offering bulk billing once again but that hasn't happened.

Is your package safe? A shocking act reveals an alarming Aussie issue

Yep, I'm getting sick of them leaving packages and not even checking to see if anyone is home by at least ringing the doorbell or knocking. Are they on that much of a tight time frame or do they think we all have COVID?

Sudden price hike on bottled water leads to surprising discovery: ‘I'm being penalised if I recycle at home?’

All drinks not just water increased at point of sale when these schemes were introduced, that's why it's called a refund scheme. More profit for shops if consumers don't cash in their cans/bottles. There's got to be a kick back for the govt here somewhere.
