Local expresses outrage over council's 'eco-friendly' billing approach: 'The public was not consulted'

Mail in our area takes so long to arrive that often it arrives past the date when rates have to be paid.

Local expresses outrage over council's 'eco-friendly' billing approach: 'The public was not consulted'

If a politician and tax inspector were about to be burnt to death in a fire, and you could only save one of them, would you make a cup of coffee or take a nap?

Local expresses outrage over council's 'eco-friendly' billing approach: 'The public was not consulted'

I get fed up with our local council constantly putting up the rates and immediately afterwards they vote themselves extra fees. Another thing they do is neglect to repair the roads but outside their depot the road is kept perfectly smooth. Just a hundred yards away there are heaps of pot holes.

Phillip Schofield shares heartbreaking news about his mum: ‘Calm, peaceful, beautiful, and dignified’

I saw the TV news about George Negus. He was a lovely family man and unfortunately in later life began suffering from altzeimers disease. He was a really great reporter and told it exactly as it was and will be missed by many people. My condolences go out to his family.

Monarchist groups criticise premiers for absent reception during royal visit

Its about time some Aussies learnt manners too. They are no longer the POME's of the past but some still act without respect for anyone. !

Monarchist groups criticise premiers for absent reception during royal visit

I hope the king has a chance to meet up with some of his old school friends in Australia. I'm sure they would give him and his queen a warmer welcome than any government official.

Banks face pressure to adjust practices amid new regulations on debit card surcharges

I paid with a debit card at the clinic yesterday and to my amazement when I looked at my bank statement (online) I discovered a 40c surcharge. It has never happened before and I was amazed to see it. No-one at the surgery warned me that this would happen.

A cunning bank scam wipes out couple's $240,000 life savings—are your funds at risk, too?

I have been with a credit union for well over 40 years and have never regretted it. They have stopped scammers taking money out of my account without me being aware of it until afterwards. I definitely recommend Credit Unions over banks any day.

Is the rise of 'King William’ tearing the Royal Family apart’?

No thank you, we do not need a president who is political. We have enough problems now without the problems of voting in a neutral president and believe me we do not need another political head of government like the present one.

Is the rise of 'King William’ tearing the Royal Family apart’?

They always plan for the monarch's death as soon as the person becomes the monarch. They have to do this so that in the event of an accident when the monarch does not survive there is no rush to make arrangements. The arrangements for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral...

    CLEAN UP OUR PLANET

That was one of the things my kids could not understand. If dad is allowed to throw his clothes on the floor why couldn't they? Obviously I had arguments with their father over this, but he would not show a good example to the kids.

‘Underground economy’ of counterfeit phones rips off vulnerable Aussies: ‘I was completely gutted’

Why pay so much money for an iPhone which is out of date within a couple of years or so. Why not just purchase a phone from a phone company or dealer who has a shop (not on line) whom you know is going to sell you a worthwhile phone at a lower price?

    CLEAN UP OUR PLANET

My kids used to leave their clothes on the floor of their rooms and expected me to collect and wash them. I got sick of it and told them anything that was not put in the dirty linen basket did not get washed. They did not believe me and then my daughter did not have a clean uniform dress for...
