    November Competition: Christmas Memories

I had always longed to experience the German Christmas markets. In 2003, my fairytale dream came true. We travelled from Dover, crossed on the ferry to Calais, then headed through Belgium to Rudesheim on the Rhine. We were thrilled to find that this quaint, historic town was surrounded on 3...

Ex-police officer falls victim to impersonation scam: Police advise what to watch out for!

Ex-police officer falls victim to impersonation scam: Police advise what to watch out for!

I also do not do financial dealings on my phone. I use my home computer to do Netbank. We live in dangerous times and there are very clever and unscrupulous criminals out there. It pays to be vigilant always!

    Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers I found this beautiful iris in Toowoomba just after the Carnival of Flowers last year. We didn't make it to Toowoomba on the Festival weekend, but was passing through about 2 weeks later. I begged my husband to drive past Queen's Park to see if the flowers were...

A cunning bank scam wipes out couple's $240,000 life savings—are your funds at risk, too?

I don't think he did lose it. The only explanation I can find, is when he emailed me the details, it was then that the scammers changed the numbers. I am still working out this mystery. Stay tuned.

A cunning bank scam wipes out couple's $240,000 life savings—are your funds at risk, too?

I am so thankful for our Commonwealth bank in Nambour. I tried to pay a bill for $5000 to a builder for a retaining wall. I was given his bank details by our neighbour, who had already paid half of the cost. He also emailed me the invoice with the bank details. My netbank refused to pay it. I...

    Bouncinette

I remember my mother-in-law looking at my firstborn in his bouncinette and frowning. "You shouldn't use that thing," she said."It will damage his little private parts!" Sometimes, you just have to nod and smile and go your own way! :)
