Yes my uncle died of it in the 1940s as there was no cure for it. People use to be sent to warmer areas for convalesance it was called Consumption in those days and very rarely cured. He was only in his 30s
If it's not made in China it's made in India or Bangladesh. Found couple things Australian made but they shoot theirselves in the foot by their pricing. The only thing I found not made in China are shoes made in Italy

They've been advertising one on TV but not so cheap as Kmart one by time you pay for postage.Eventually they come out in shops so cheaper than buying online
